Blakes Organic Chocolate was founded and developed by prominent Galway businesswoman and former “Galway Businesswoman of the Year” Denise Gleeson. Denise has always believed in “organic” as a way of life, encompassing food production, taste, care of the environment and health ethos.
In 2011, Denise decided to sell Blakes and focus on her other passions, Organic Farming and her three children. (The name Blakes emanates from Denise’s own heritage. Her family farm is located on the former Blakes Estate, dating back to 1850. Blake is one of the fourteen tribes of Galway).
